What is over the bands so they don't get ruined when they are wet?

The coaster is a photo coaster. There is a piece of glass on top of the bands. I applied glue to the back of the bands and put them on a index card. The index card slides in the back of the coaster.

They look like the glass coasters that you can buy at most stores and put any pictures you want in them. Or random cigar bands as the case may be.

Once you pointed that out now I see it. At first glance it just looked like you had the bands had some clear coat over it and it was a white ceramic coaster. I love the coasters.
