Have you tried any of the Padron Maduros yet, especially the Padron Anniversary? Will Never mind, I just re-read your post. After 15 years of smoking, I guess you've figured out what you like by now. |

A little over 25 years - cigars and pipes. Sometimes the cigars have predominated, sometimes the pipe has.

Really, really old

About 40 years, alternating between pipes and cigars. Last 5 or 6 years much more serious about cigars to the point of keeping several humidors and a cooler.

Managing the UnManageable

I was 16 with my first cigars and pipe.
In Vermont vacationing with my Folks, Brother and NANA. NANA chose the first tobacco for my pipe. Cherry Blend, I think... Cigars.... There was a store in Newark, NJ that rolled it's own (I lived in Elizabeth and Linden)...I would buy boxes of fresh rolled from them. My humidifying was terrible in the early years I'm 56 nowadays ![]() Tom

I don't like many maduros . One I forgot to mention that I like is the Fuente Curly Head Deluxe maduro . As for Padrons , never had one of them I liked either , always taste harsh and ashy to me , once I even got that black gooey tar like stuff from the cut end while smoking it .

Still Watching My Back

I always have a tough time answering this question. I've smoked cigarettes way back, and always enjoyed those wine tipped cigarellos or the small Panters. Even smoked a pipe for a while.
But the "real" cigar smoking started about 4-5 years ago. Long after I quit cigarettes. But only the occassional one back then. Never owned a humidor, or understood why I would need one until 5 months ago. Now I own 3 and looking at making a coolador. ![]()

I remember what started the snowball effect. I went to Europe after graduating my apprenticeship as an Electrician and bought a box of Romeo y Julieta's. I don't remember which onces they exactly were.
That was about 2.5 years ago.

I have lost track of how long I have been smoking cigars but I do remember being in the cigar shop before my son was born and he is now almost 4. So I know it has been at least that long and maybe a little longer than that.

Started in high school smoking a couple of swisher sweets wood tips, moved up (?) to El Producto Queens in college, had my first Fuente Hemingway in 1987. Been on and off mostly since then. Pretty much a summer smoker until the last couple of years, and getting quite serious about it in the last year.

I started smoking cigars about 4 months ago... before that I don't really consider what I was doing smoking cigars because they consisted mainly of the 7-11 specials.... dog rockets, and colts.... now I actually go to the local B&M and have started to sample some different cigars...... one that I smoked recently was a Thomas Hinds Maduro very smooth.....

I began smoking in the beginning of 1998. I was a senior in high school! |
