Just had it installed yesterday, and so far so good. My first question is how to remove/block the adult channels and or titles from showing on the Channel Guide. It was quite easy with Comcast, but from what I've found so far, it's not quite as easy with DTV. Custom Favorites list was mentioned, but it says this is easily overridden.
If there are any installers out there, who know about Whole Home DVR, shoot me a PM. I had this installed and would like to know how to connect to my home network to use Direct2PC. I'm sure there will be more questions, but I don't need my 8 year old asking me if he can watch Debbie Does Dallas ![]()

3 different boxes. 1 HD DVR, 1 HD receiver (only models compatible with Whole Home DVR), and the rest are all SD boxes.

Thanks Adam, but no luck. We have parental controls turned on. I guess it's not possible to permanently keep the titles from showing in the guide.

Try the DTV help forum, one of the techs that monitors it might have some help for you. Or AVSForum, is another place that someone might be able to help. |

On mine I click DirecTV button and you get DirecTV Central with:
Now playing list Watch Live TV Showcases Pick Programs to record Read new messages & settings and a couple of other choices. Then click "Read new messages & settings"; then click "settings"; then click "channels"; then click "channel list". At this point you can check channels you want to show up in the program guide, one by one. Handy to get rid of shopping networks, news stations you may not agree with, and PPV sites. Good way to get rid of stuff you will never watch, like maybe ? |

Why are you paying to watch Debbie Does Dallas, Nick?
From what I recall, you plug a ethernet cable to the DVD-R from your router... Install the Direct2PC on your computer... That's it...There should be step by step directions on directv.com

It's under "Menu", "Setup", custom ->
You can definite which "Custom 1" channels list you use (can customize 3 I believe). When you edit the list, you can remove channels. I hope this helps |

www.dbstalk.com is a great resource.
I beta test the DVR software and have been for almost 3 years now. Had Multi room viewing for the last 2 years. There are two ways to set this up: Whole Home DVR Service Basically the DVR's in your home are connected via Ethernet over coaxial cable. Each room will have their own controls and can integrate / watch / delete content from every other DVR Requires special equipment to install and set up Multi Room Viewing Same as above except the DVR's are connected through your existing Ethernet infrastructure. No special equipment required. Plug into your network and go.. Both great options.. |

I have whole home dvr, which I have modified to also connect to my home network. So my DVR's are online and I can also use Directv2PC.
