I enjoy seeing all your work. Fantastic. I have some teak pieces that are large enough to make a fair sized desk top humi and have been hesitant because of the strong smell. Is that something that you had to remedy in any way like using a special sealing method or just ensuring a good seal with the liner? Always a treat to see new pieces you post. Keep up that great work.

Thank you.... If the seal on the liner is good, there should be no effect from the woods used on the outside.....

Absolutely exquisite. I've built a humi with Kauri and Teak as well. Beautiful choice of woods. Excellent execution as well.

Is Kauri even harvested? I have a couple of bowls of Huon Pine I bought in Tasmania. Live trees are now protected and I believe the only wood available is that which is discovered in the ground and dug up. I saw a story on Kauri (History channel maybe ??) - the logs are monstrous.
Nice work. |

Absolutely beautiful wood, it has an amazing iridescent quality to it when finished that's almost impossible to capture on camera!! |
