Well I got my Civil Service results today. I have been stressing the last few days because everyone else got their results and I still had an empty mailbox everyday. So I drove down to the Civil Service office and asked to see my results. Amazingly she did not have to flip through very many names to find mine since I was #1 on the list!! So now this takes away a huge stressor knowing that I will be hired as a permanent employee for the job I have been working provisionally for for the last 19+ months.

Congatulations!
Here's something to think about. You will be a full time government employee. As long as you do nothing illegal, you won't be fired. If they do cut your job they will find you another one in the government. Secondly, you benefit from everyone else paying taxes since tax money is used to pay your salary. And, since your income is based on other people paying taxes, then every time you go out and buy a good cigar you are using taxpayer dollars to do so.
