Ok here we go
I think Sierra Nevada uses more hops or use a stronger tasting hop for the majority of their beers (idk their porter and stout are AMAZING). Now for Sam Adams, if u have ever had a regular SA Boston Lager, (to me) its much hoppier than say a Yuengling or other American lagers.
If you havent looked at this site
http://beeradvocate.com/ you really should. They have alot of reviews, info, and anything else you could ask for about beer.
For beers to try. I would go for any Oktoberfest marzen out now. Hefeweizens are really good...um to me porters and stouts arent really hoppy but idk about your tastes.
Im sorry for just rambling or not making any sense.
I LOVE hops
