I would seriously think about diluting it. Sugar preserves the tobacco (virtually all casings have some form of sugar in them), but too much will make the tobacco unsmokable (way too sweet - it's why companies like McClelland's don't just pour vanilla extract into their vanilla 'baccys), and also make it burn too hot, making for some wicked bite.
If you decide to stove it, go with the lowest temp, and make sure you mix it constantly (I'd go no more than 5 minutes without mixing).
