Default Gilberto Oliva Reserva Blanc robusto

Snagged a fiver of these to try them out.

Attractive cigar. Nice wrapper. Nice cut, perfect draw. The cigar is well-rolled and heavy in the hand.

First few draws...pretty standard mild Connecticut wrap cigar. Mild, creamy/buttery. Pleasant aroma.

About 1" in...wow, what a turn for the worse. Strange chemical taste on the finish. Incredibly nasty. WTF! Pitched it.

Final thoughts...I will probably just toss the rest of these. What a disappointment. I wouldn't even give one of these to someone I don't like. I know Oliva cigars are incredibly popular, and I used to smoke A LOT of them, but this chemical aftertaste is something that I've noticed with quite a few of their lines in the past 5 years or so. Even on their higher end lines, especially V and Melanio. At this point I've pretty much written off the entire brand.
