We tend not to remember the good speeches, which is a shame. On the other hand, the bad ones, oh yea, we remember those.
I had a person during my wedding give a speech; his introduction being, "Thank you all for coming to my special day..." and ended without even acknowledging my wife. Needless to say, we remember
that speech.
