My guess, and this is really a wild guess is that the back of the truck became air born when it collided with the pole and the tail then swung around somehow missing the other pole or the building. Probably one of those 1 in a million type things. Oh, and the other part of the "how did that happen" scenario was probably correctly ID'd by Mark as alcohol.
