You may want to try comparing and contrasting the agricole vs. molasses rums and see what you like of each.

huge bang for your buck, and experience some of the finest spirits of the type for a fraction of the costs. I am no expert, but I know what makes my mouth happy.. .(that sounded...er... dirty...) Oh, and my wallet.
