I'm reading a Jasper T. Scott series.
I'm just about done with #5. The series has been pretty good, the author has pulled a lot of decent ideas out of his ass to keep it going, but he's worn out the characters and has way too many in play.
He desperately needs to kill off a bunch of them. At this point it's obvious they're just dragging along in case he needs them for a later book.
I don't mind being set up for the umpteenth book in a series, but at least be opaque about it, I figure.
