Have you seen the scene (sorry, it just came out that way) in Prince of Thieves where the friar is talking to them about grain? I am sure that I am not 100% correct in the quote, but it is fairly close.
There are a couple guys sitting near Friar Tuck and as he lifts and handful of grain, letting dribble from his hand, he says..."This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord had a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our Maker and Glory to His bounty by learning about the art of brewing Beer."

Or something like that. This is proof to me that the Friar was a Lutheran.
