Default A shout out for a change

I know, I'm usually more rant oriented, but this one seems to have worked out.

About 2 weeks ago, I was out mowing my back yard-grass was VERY tall due to the huge amount of rain we'd had and it was so wet I couldn't get out. About halfway through the back yard, my engine sputters a bit and completely stops/won't restart. The mower was just a year old with 25 hours on it.

I bought it from a dealer 2 hours away off ebay as it was a close-out model and nobody in town wanted to really even touch it. Dealer I bought it from picked it up as he's this way a couple of times/week picking up from warehouse and found out today that the bearing melted to the crankshaft. It's an issue Kohler knows about and seems to be fixing it without any resistance. In talking with another dealer locally, they said Kohler blames everything on owner issues and it's as though you have to prove it was their problem. Otherwise, it would probably be fighting between the dealer and manufacturer over a $1k issue.

I may just have to smoke a nice cigar tonight to celebrate as a big sigh of relief.
