This pipe was a little more than $300, but I don't wear gloves. On one hand, yes, it is a work of art. On the other hand, no, I don't worry about how it is going to color even or not. I tried holding it at the stem the first time I smoked it...too damn heavy hold that way for the entire smoke so I hold it like every other pipe I have.
