I was a tiny bit concerned about the difficulty with the X being rooted...until I remembered that in all the time I had my Eris I didn't root it or anything. I did the whole custom ROM thing with my WinMo phones and while they were an improvement over stock the negatives always outweighed the positives for me. I need my phone to be reliable, it's a tool first and a toy second (but close second
). Anyway I think they will figure it out, now it's a challenge and I think that will drive it, also it seems to be a pretty popular device. I would just like to be able to use the WIFI tether without the extra $20 and to get rid of the couple of bloatwear programs.
If I was going to leave Verizon right now it would only be for the EVO.
