Another line of thought would be to just offer him something you like personally.
If you enjoy the Opus or Cohiba, I doubt you'll go wrong there. Maybe bring a couple mild or Medium sticks in case he doesn't like the strong stuff just to show him the range of options out there.
"I smoke these and like them a lot." is a much more personal gift than "Guy123 on the Internet said these rock, so here ya go!"
