The problem with an "addiction" is that you need more than one, that way you can just say you have "hobbies."

In addition to cigars, I like mountain biking and whisky. All of these are expensive. But because they are "hobbies," my wife just shrugs it off. "That's what he does..." is the common phrase.

No smoking problem, no drinking problem, no racing problem. All hobbies, and it's good to have hobbies, right?
