It made me smile in so many ways. I loved the lead character in particular, the
blond kid, Oskar. He would get these looks on his face like he just peed in his pants or in the pool.
He would look into space and this relaxed and dreamy look would come across his face.
Everything about this movie had some kind of appeal to it. I think it was incredibly well made.
Not sure if you knew this going in, but in the scene where Oskar sees the vampires crotch, it was
to illustrate a part of the book that was not explained in the movie, and that was the vamp-kid
was a castrated boy. It did not change or improve the way the story was told in the film.
Nor would it have been helpful to explain the books telling of the relationship between the old man
and the vampire-kid. Read about it online to see what I mean.
