But what glass? IMHO you're losing the most important part of the experience in a good whisky if you're not using the a glass of the proper shape. The taste is defined almost entirely but the nose so if you're drinking from a wide mouthed or tumbler type glass you're not getting a vast majority of the aromatics and might just as well be drinking a mixed drink or the cheapest blend you can find instead of a fine whisky.

Personally I prefer an iso tasting glass over the Glencairn because they tend to be thinner glass/crystal which lets you hand warm the whisky much easier. Plus, being a stemmed glass, they tend not to get as greasy with fingerprints. The Glencairn is still a great glass though and I have several of them as well. Much more robust so it's perfect for a bar or herf where it's more likely to get dropped or knocked over.
