I actually have one just like th first (cheaper) one. I've been using it as my primary humidor for a year or two. (Getting a real one for christmas). It's worked fine. About once a month depending on how many times I open it, I throw in some distilled water to the top and it stays fine. Never had any problems or complaints from people about the quality of the cigars.
Don't know about the traveling part though.
