Default Puros Huerfanos Blend 143 Lancero

Puros Huerfanos Blend 143 Review

Famous-Smoke Description:
Strength: Full
Size: 6 x 38 Lancero
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Natural
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan

Puros Huerfanos 143 cigars, shrouded in secrecy, are akin to a well-known brand hailed throughout the industry as one of the most flavorful blends ever. Rich and full-bodied, grab a seat and let these long 'n strong ligas take you for an unforgettable ride at a fraction of their original price.

Review:

Construction:
*Almost seemless and very smooth wrapper with subtle veins
*Very dark and some what dry appearance
Pre-Light:
*Sweet and spicy smell at the foot
*Medium to tight draw but seems ok to smoke
*Sweet flavor and peppery on the lips
1st 1/3:
*Tons of spice through the nose and on front of the tounge
*I noticed a pleasant sweet finish after spice subsides
*Aside from the spicey front and sweet finish there isn't too much
complexity
*This cigar is very light on the pallet through the first third and I would say
it's medium bodied thus far
*The burn has been nearly flawless and it's provided a loose salt and
pepper colored ash
2nd 1/3
*Through this portion of the cigar, the pepper and spice seemed to take
the back seat to the sweetness which was a nice change
*As I got further into the 2nd 1/3 I noticed the spice was almost non-
existant and the cigar started to become a bit one dimensional (bland
with a sweet finish or after-taste)
*The burn and ash have remained consistant with lots of smoke through a
medium draw which stayed fairly cool
Final 1/3:
*WOW! A spice sandwich. Spicey(1st 1/3) - Bland(2nd 1/3) - Spicey(final)
*I also noticed this cigar picked up some steam and gained some shoulders
as a medium to full bodied smoke
*In addition to the rebirth of spice I picked up some wood/cedar tones to
make this portion of the cigar much more complex than the first 2/3
*No complaints about contruction for this stick
*To the nub this smoke continued to offer a very sweet finish that
reminded me of an RP Sungrown or La Riqueza maybe
Final Thoughts:
The Puros Huerfanos Blend 143 Lancero gets a C grade in my book as an
average cigar. I smoked the Robusto size and found it to have much more
depth which is shocking to me as the lanceros have usually proven the
opposite. However, I do find this to be an affordable anytime of day cigar.
This is also the 1st in this size I have smoked and I look forward to another
try.

Thanks for your time!
