Re: Few noob questions.
I bought sone cigars from a B&M locally, and I have a few questions. I smoked a CAO mx2 today and I noticed the wrapper started to peel or fray.. something. Like about 50% thru the cigar. Is this my fault? or is it too dry?
Did it start to peel where you cut it or in the middle when you say 50% I'm reading it as you smoked half of it. If it peeled where you cut it maybe you cut a little to much of the cap off.
Also, I noticed the cigars I smoked ( yesterday was an AF Gran Reserva and today CAO mx2 ) they seemed kinda harsh-ish on the smoke. I wasnt drawing hard and I didnt have to relight once.
Are these cigars you tried before ? Maybe they just weren't to you liking.
I'm starting to think that the B&M has a shitty humidor system. Maybe they dont even tend to it at all. I dont know anything about buying cigars, but I'll call this my lesson learned. I think from now on I'll be buying from members and off the internet only.
Check around you area and find a good B&M it's a nice way to try one or two sticks here and there to figure out what you like
Last thing, was IF the cigars have traces of mold in them. ( again I dont know anything about ciagrs to tell whats what ) How can I check? ANd what if they go into my humidor, it will spread right?
Chances are if the sticks have mold you will see it on the wrapper or right on the foot of the cigar.
Lastly, are the cigars supposed to feel dry? Or are they supposed to feel slightly moist? Obviously not wet, but like hmm... Not dry ya know? I think I may have wasted some money on this batch of B&M smokes, but lesson learned.
Dry is not a good thing when dealing with cigars if they felt brittle I'd be concerned. Try to keep some in your humidor for a month or so to let them adjust to prefered RH my personal liking is 61-65 for both NC and CC
