Default Re: Repairing a paint chip on a car advice

I never used that, Dave.
What I do is get a stick of "my color paint" from an auto store. Then I get a stick of clear coat.
I use alcohol to clean the area. If alcohol doesn't do it, I use rubbing compound, then alcohol.
The rubbing compound will scuff the clear coat and make it dull, so I'm very careful just to do the tiny area where it's necessary with the corner of a rag.
The clear coat will cover the scuff and it's all darn near invisible when it's done.
It has to be 60 plus degrees to do any of this, by the way. Can't do it in the cold.
