Thanks Tom! My grandfather used to smoke cigars while on patrol duty back in the old Chi days. Nobody messed with him as he opted to take some to the back of Schiller woods. But that was back in the '40s and '50s when the 'town' was still a wild wild west. I have many folks smile while they see me enjoying a cigar. Also get a lot of winks from the pretty ladies too

We were allowed to smoke in the squads my first several years, as well as in the station. I smoked a cigar every night in the squad on midnights...not good cigars back then mind you, mostly Grenadiers out of a cardboard 5 pack from Walgreens.
