Re: I Now Know What That "D" In "Mickey D" Is For
My wife and I work in an Intensive Care Unit in a collegetown (Ithaca, NY)
And we have taken care of many folks who have gone on amazing rampages under the influence. Often, they end up either permanently brain damaged once they come down. Or, we end up keeping them alive on life support until their family is able to grasp that they are dead and not coming back.
Just recently, we had one 30 something brain dead and artificially kept alive after a heroin overdose. A friend visiting then came back in as a patient 2 days later in the same condition.
Seeing a friend die from it was not enough deterrence.
