Consider, we have very little snow removal equipment (although VA is much better over the past 20 years), basic salt/sand trucks and no experience driving in it. Do you really want your children on a bus with a driver who driver in snow/ice maybe once or twice a year? The same going to work. A days vacation is worth it to me rather than have someone slide into my car, the aggravation isn't worth it. Most know very little how to get around in the snow. My time in Philly got me some experience, but I'm no expert.

I can't count the number of people that we've pulled out of ditches that are from other states and talk about how they were "brought up driving in snow where they come from" or those that drive four-wheelers that believe they are impervious to accidents. Volt hit the nail on the head....we just don't have the equipment or the frequency of snow/ice prepare the roads. But...on top of that, as the saying goes, "you can't fix stupid" for those that drive unnecessarily or drive like a bat out of hell on these roads.
