My Heels got past a pesky and experienced Gardner-Webb 76-59, but it would have been a blowout without their 18 TOs, 1-12 from 3, and 9-19 from the stripe. I imagine Roy will have them running two-a-days.

Had the Terps been able to shoot a little in the 1st half, Robert's 'Cats would have gone down . . . and not in a good way. It's funny that the little bit of experience on UK's bench saved the day for the hyper-hyped freshmen. If nothing else, maybe this one will make Cal shut his face about his boys going 40-0 . . . for a week or two anyway.

I feel no sympathy for UCLA about losing Shabazz Muhammad. Every school was warned beforehand to be wary of recruiting that guy. Can anybody say (or spell) "Enes Kanter"?
