If your cable company doesn't offer a PC client that allows you to stream shows from the web, look into "Tivo Desktop" software. It should allow you to view recorded shows on your PC. You might have to trick the Tivo software to watch a live show though; the classic way to do this with a DVR is to set the DVR to record the game, wait a minute or two, then start streaming the recording (from the beginning) to the PC.

If all that fails, like Jay said, get a Slingbox.
