Best of luck with the surgery
Being as this is your first surgery, I would suggest that you ask for something to help with the anesthesia. When I came out of my "sleep" I had a lot of problems with feeling very sick from the anesthesia. It is only another shot they add to your IV before the surgery and it helped me immensely in my last 3 surgeries. Better to ask for it and wouldn't have gotten sick, then feeling like hell for a few days.
