Please pick one number from the poll list of 1-3. The lottery is undergoing some minor changes (the rules of powerball changed) so we need to redo the pools. There will be a shiny new announcement about how things will work by the weekend. We already have 2 different groups of random numbers generated at random.org by 2 different members of the TOE. The final random number is to select which of the 3 different sets of numbers within each group will be dropped (we only need 2 of the 3).

Seems to me that asking the board at large to vote on the numbers 1-3 is sufficiently random for this purpose. In the event of a tie, the odd man out will be dropped. In the event of a 3 way tie, I will call one of the TOE at random and ask them to pick.

Thank you for your support of the CA lottery. To maintain the randomness, I won't disclose any more details of how this works before the poll closes at noon (PDT) on Saturday. After that, I'll be happy to disclose the whole process in all its (pseudo)randomness.
