The problem is, the market for top-tier pitchers is too high (and they aren't all that great), relievers are sparse and the true prize free agents are at a position they don't need. They could have used Reyes, but he was at a steep price.
Maybe now that Ramirez is upset about trying to move to 3B he would be open to come
There were some pretty good players out there last year and teams in the Reds division improved while they stayed stagnant. And there certainly hasn't been much news about them making any 'blockbuster' moves this offseason.
The Reds can't put butts in seat if they don't win, the Marlins are making moves to try and fill their seats, even if they may not win with them. The Reds have the feeling of the Bengals in that they don't seem to put a ton of effort into winning, just the bottom line.
