Oh I see a threat, unintentionally, if someone's too close and the whale pops up and then dives back under again. A kayaker could get capsized, or get sucked underwater due to the sheer mass of the whale. Those things are HUGE! Even the newborn calves are nothing to sneeze at. I woulda freaked out big time; how often does someone get a chance to see something like that up close? Of course, I'm a Midwesterner. I get excited whenever I see dolphins offshore when I'm walking down the beach somewhere in FL or GA or wherever.
