Agreed -- you need to have some time with yourself as well as time with your friends when you have your cigars. As you pointed out, when you are by yourself you can focus on the cigar.
I also like to sit with my dog out back on the deck when I am having a cigar. The only problem is that he often wants me to throw a ball for him and when the ball gets slimey the dog does not understand that I don't want his spit on my cigar
