well after 9 years at my current place, including surviving many lay offs, going from an office environment to working remotely from home and many other things ive probably forgotten, im changing. I was in a debate with myself a few weeks ago (see my working from home vs commuting thread
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=48402) and the company making me the offer, initially offered what i said i needed at the bare minimum to financially do it.
After alot of consideration, the driving time i would be loosing and also the fact id prob end up loosing money overall, i expressed this to the company and they upped the offer considerably to where I decided ok yea this is worth it.
Going in as a network support tech at a small IT firm that contracts out to around 200 companies in the Birmingham area. Should be a great learning experience. Im nervous but excitied at the same time.
