Funny about all this conspiracy theory regarding Jeter's time on the DL with a gimpy leg. The same Yankee haters who see nefarious and selfish motives behind each move the Evil Empire makes had no problem at all with, for instance, Pete Rose managing himself into the lineup night after night towards the end of his career, or Cal Ripkin Jr. limping out for the first inning of a game to keep his streak alive, all for the sole purpose of padding their stats.
