Andy, I think it's a movie about the lives of the actors and the making of the Stooges shorts, rather than a remake or reboot of the shorts.

Shemp might or might not be in it depending on the timeline - he was off working on other projects at the time Curly was a Stooge. IIRC, he and Curly only were only in one short together and Curly's part was very small.

I agree that as an actor, Shemp was much more skilled than his younger brother.
