I threw fish number four back and it watched closely and took a few steps closer (the bird was almost taller than my daughter).

Fish number five hit the water and was instantly scooped up, he missed number six but managed to eat number seven and eight before finally flying back to the tree he had been perched in.
When we were kids, we lived on a lake. I used to go sunfish hunting with the bow. A particular heron used to fish with me all the time, whether it was rod or bow.
Whenever I got something with the bow, he'd be happy to eat whatever I got, and if I was using a rod, whenever I drew blood from the gills or guts, I'd give him those.
I know birds have a high metabolism, but it's truly amazing how much they can eat. They're a bit hoggish.
