I just didn't read it as tongue-in-cheek humor, Adam...I re-read it now and I see exactly what you meant.
The big joke here is that Ricketts and Hendry will not want to commit $300 million over 10 years to a player who will be 41 when the contract expires....so they will offer him $300 million over
5 years.
