I guess what really made up my mind to join here was the response to the (highly) misguided Cigar O'Byrnes (
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=41373). He was given the benefit of the doubt that his intentions weren't pure evil. In all likelihood he was someone who thought he had a good idea, got very excited about it, but didn't think it through. Regardless of what his intentions were I thought the reaction on this site (vs. others) was indicative of what I was looking for
