Re: Beetles

Thanks- I will do a better job of previewing threads in the future. Still getting used to this site. I love it. I've been smoking cigars for 13 years and I've learned a ton in the last week from...

Beetles

Let me start off by saying I do not have beetles in either of my humidors but I still have a concern. I keep reading that my humidor should be at 70 degrees to prevent the bugs. However, we keep our...

Re: Beginner Questions (Ask Them Here!)

Did a salt test for both of my hygrometers. My old one is registering 68% with 69% Boveda packs in one humidor and my new one reads 66% with 72% packs. My new hygrometer read 7% below my old one. ...

Re: Beginner Questions (Ask Them Here!)

So after the salt test if my hygrometer reads 70% I simply add 5% to the reading after it is placed in my humidor?

Appreciate all the insight!

Re: Boveda Packs

It should read 75% correct? So if my one that has no calibration button reads 70% after a salt test I simply know it is 5% off?

Re: Boveda Packs

How do I check the factory calibration? Also, I put my older Xicar (that was calibrated using the salt test) in the same humi and it reads about 5 higher than my new one. Frustrating

Re: Beginner Questions (Ask Them Here!)

I have a digital. There is not a calibration button on my new digital. I have done the salt test before but have always pushed the calibration button on my other digital. Make sense?

Re: Beginner Questions (Ask Them Here!)

Purchased a second humidor (25-30 count) and I seasoned it for two weeks with 84% packs. I have about 15 sticks in there with 72% packs (I now have three) and the humidity level won't raise past 66%....

Re: Beginner Questions (Ask Them Here!)

If I seasoned my humidor with Boveda packs can I later on switch to a humidifier? Vice versa for that matter. My first humidor I seasoned by wiping it down, etc and using a humidifier. Can I switch...

Re: Beginner Questions (Ask Them Here!)

It is analog and built into the humidor. I have a digital in my other humi. Will probably get another digital. Do you know if I can take the built in analog out and replace it with a digital or am...

Re: Beginner Questions (Ask Them Here!)

There wasn't a start up kit. The guy at the shop just said to leave the 84% in for two weeks and then switch. I assume the humidity will eventually creep up?

Re: Beginner Questions (Ask Them Here!)

I just purchased a second humidor (small Savoy) and am currently seasoning it with two 84% Boveda packs. I have never used the Boveda packs before. They have been in the new humi for two days and...
