Re: Beetles

I routinely keep my house at 77 - 78 in the summer, and haven't had one beetle in the 8 yrs I've been here. That being said, I keep my stash right next to an A/C vent. ; )

Re: Aging aged cigars

Definitely this! I was amazed at how tasty these suckers are after about six months. My problem is I usually can't hang onto them that long!

Re: Caldwell & Other Newcomers, why?

I don't know about Caldwell's premium lines, but I had one of their Junior Varsity lines and thought it was OK. It was so unmemorable I can't even remember the exact one.

Now the one newcomer...

Re: Wow, some companies are pretty awesome!

Good on them! Glad to see the compassion, and I will definitely be looking to them for my next flight.

Re: Anyone buy the Pintolinos?

I'm not normally a cigarillo or infused flavor guy, but that's a heck of a bargain! I love the portability of a tin though, and could see myself packing one for a night out at the casino, etc.

Re: Bone Crusher

Great review of an excellent but not often talked about stick. I love the Skull Breaker as well.

Re: Alec Bradley

The tempus is good. I really liked them when they first came out, but less so now.

Also, I've been very impressed with the Raices Cubanas line. That's a darn good smoke.

Re: SOA Black Crown

I smoked one SOA, and thought it was pretty decent. It didn't blow me away, but I like the black crowns as a budget smoke, and this to me was very similar.

Re: Veterans Cigar

I'm not a veteran, but I'm smoking a Man 'o War Phalanx in honor of those who are, and I appreciate all of you men and women who have fought for our freedoms.

Re: Where are you from?

Born and grew up in RI, went to college in Miami, FL, then lived in good 'ol Ft. Myers for 8 years. Then lived in Greenville, SC for a year, then up here in Richmond, VA for the last 7 years. I'd...

Re: Casa Fuente Cigar of Choice...

I say smoke whatever tickles your fancy at the time (or based on how far up in winnings you are). I always enjoy the house CF, but since you're bringing some of those home anyway, maybe an obscure...

Re: Perdomo 12 Year

Thanks for the input, have not heard of these, but they sound intriguing. I wonder if the flavor profile is similar to the old 5 Vegas Cask Strength of several years ago. I really enjoyed those,...

Re: 601 Steel

Yes, to me, all of the La Bombas are good. If you like strong and in your face cigars from the first puff, then you'll want to give any La Bomba a shot.

Smoked a couple more Steels, and they...

I'm a big fan of both the Rothschild and gigantes. The gigantes are really good.

Re: Quesada oktoberfest das boot

I don't know if you smoked the 2014 version, but if not, give this year's Oktoberfest a shot. Its MUCH better. I had the toro size (Kaiser), and from what I was told, it has a different wrapper, and...

Re: Opening a Cigar Lounge

First of all, I commend you brother for opening a lounge and doing something you love. Best of luck!

Second, the alcohol might draw some cig smokers, but if your establishment is primarily known...

Re: 601 Steel

It's gotten even better. Down to last couple of inches and getting smooth coffee flavors. I think they advertise as full bodied, but to me its on the fuller side of medium. I'll have no qualms...

601 Steel

Haven't seen these mentioned yet, but I'm a 601 fan, and I saw these on cigarmonster so I grabbed a fiver.

Smoking one right now (the Rod), and its pretty good. To me, it kind of pulls in some...

Re: Liga Privada #9 vs Genesis The Project

I do enjoy the #9 as an occasional indulgence, but can't be a GTP as a $3 cigar. And if you can manage to rest them for at least a few months, they get oh so much better.

Re: Kentucky Fired Cured

Same here, I've smoked a few of the smaller singles, and they are good if you're in the mood for something different. Although the first one I had I thought I was in trouble when I did a cold draw...

Re: Panned cigars you enjoy

A few that I like to keep around are:

5 Vegas Cask Strength
J. Fuego Origen and Origen Maduro
Pinar del Rio Oscuro

I don't think any of the above are frowned upon or panned per se, but they...

Re: La Antiquedad

These are really good. I had a toro single at my local, and like Rob said, I didn't get the trademark Pepin pepper blast either, but the enjoyable cocoa creaminess more than made up for it.
