Re: Drone Anyone?

Just bought an Air 2s myself. Suffice to say, there's so much boondoggle going on with government regulation, you'd think these things are causing civilian aircraft to drop from out of the skies.

Bead Options?

Howdy, guys.

While I wait for a new humidor being built by Ed @ WaxingMoon as a gift for a friend, I need to pick up some beads to go along with it. Just wondering what everyone is using these...

Actually, I gave a shot at wiping her down, and she cleaned up kinda nice. Still a tosser, or is it smokable?

Plume, Mold... or Both?

Howdy, folks. Long time, no see. This smoke has been in my humidor for almost 10 years, now. I wanted to get a 2nd opinion on this to determine if what I'm looking at is plume, mold or a...

Re: $1000 cigars for Bill

I guess this is what 'flat broke' means in the Clinton household.

Yeah, but at least this time, he didn't inhale.

Re: This years Habanero Plants

Awesome link - thanks!

I have some dried seeds left over from a batch of sauce I did last year. Maybe I'll give that a try...

Re: This years Habanero Plants

Nice. I love making Habanero sauce. What sort of soil and growing conditions do you have? I'd love to try, but I have really rocky terrain and limited sunlight where I am here in NE PA.

Home Aged Beef

Not sure whether this belongs in this forum, or 'recipes', but thought I'd share the results of my research. By way of a little history, let me share my motivation by way of a brief backgrounder.

Re: Burgers!!

I make mine using 8oz (1/2 lb) 88% lean ground beef (usually from Costco) to which I fold in 1T of unseasoned (plain) bread crumbs and 2 strips of smoked bacon cut into 1/2' slices. The bacon adds...

JD/Knob Creek Spicy BBQ Sauce

Just thought I'd share a quick recipe I use for myself to zip things up a bit based on a fast and easy adaptation to available off-the-shelf products. I'm not sure if I posted this previously, so...

Re: Gas Grill Recommendations

Nah, I'd rather do it myself but thanks for the generous offer. Besides, I'm pretty sure Home Depot doesn't use LocTite on the screw threads. ;-)

The Eagle Has Landed

Two questions, if I may.

1) How do you guys season your grills? So far, I've washed down the 'Flavorizer Bars' and grill grates with soapy water, and heated the grill to burn that off, along...

Re: Heartfelt Beads- stole money

Not to belabor the points already made, but permit me to offer a suggestion so that going forward, you can have a more positive experience here at Cigar Asylum, and perhaps in life also.

1) Don't...

Re: Gas Grill Recommendations

I was tempted by a BGE but it's still charcoal and the round shape makes it awkward for ribs. Not sure how a rotisserie would work, either.

You and I are pretty much in the same boat. Having...

Re: Gas Grill Recommendations

That's why I liked the RED. It had an Infrared design that did not cook via convection. however, the new Weber design seems to be better at channeling hot dry air away from the food than their...

Re: Gas Grill Recommendations

Having been using charcoal in my old gas RED grill to extend its usable life until I arrive at a solution, and also having used charcoal-only grills in the past, I can tell you that there is zero...

Re: Gas Grill Recommendations

Because charcoal is a PITA. It creates a huge storage inconvenience, it's problematic for large items like rib racks because it's hard to get an even burn, it can't be used effectively for a roast...

End Of Season Grill Discounts

I asked this in my other thread, but it will probably get lost in the sauce.

What sort of discounts do the box stores offer during their end-of-year (post labor day) grill blowout sales? Is it...

Re: Gas Grill Recommendations

I'm TOTALLY down with the side burner. That's what the RED had, and ironically enough, the only thing that hasn't rusted to its bones.

When grills go on sale at the end of the year (usually after...

Re: Gas Grill Recommendations

As much as the quality of the grill itself, I'm convinced that availability of replacement parts is key. Weber's product line is ubiquitous, so you can almost always find parts just about anywhere....
