Re: Phishing bad

It was a dog rocket brand that folks passed around as a joke. Although somewhere, there was a newbie who thought they were really good.

Re: Phishing bad

Well, perhaps times have changed, but we used to call that mooching. One of the infamous mooches went by the name, “Jim the Newbie.” Whenever someone mentioned a cigar, he’d post, “Gee, I never had...

Re: Air filters & you: The for cleaner air.

Blowers like that typically are in a box, like the shell of your furnace. I would put a box around it made of galvanized steel or plywood. You can add whatever kind of mounting flange you need to the...

Re: Looking for a good birthday cigar

Does your B&B stock Oliva products? An Oliva V or V Melanio would be nice.

Re: Famous Nic 3000 - still got it...kinda.

I smoked a lot of those gordos back in the day. I guess CI's Oliva 2nds are the way to go now. The Liga Vs are quite tasty!

Re: Looking for a good cutter and lighter

You might want to try a cigar punch also before making a lot of decisions. I use a Xikar punch on most cigars and a xikar cutter on those where it isn't practical.

Re: what cigar should I try next

Welcome! Good advice, above. I like the idea of the JR Ultimates. You can buy the same cigar with different wrappers and start learning about the effect that has.

BTW, the Ultimates are sold...

Re: Questions on humidity...

I don't have a lot of experience with Guardian of the Farm. But, I can tell you that the Casa Fernandez cigars tend to have pretty brittle wrappers. Taste great but sometimes will have some wrapper...

Re: Tampa/Ybor City, FL Cigars

Basically, you can walk up and down E 7th and find a bunch of places. Tabenero is good, as is Long Ash. And you should eat at the historic Columbia restaurant.

A word of warning. The shops there...

Re: Could this be a cigar beetle hole?

I always put a Boveda in the bag. Done so 100s of times. No problem. When I take the bag out, I keep it sealed for a few days as everything equalizes.

One additional thing. If the suspect cigars...

Re: Aganorsa Leaf

Famous is selling off a cigar called Aganorsa Leaf by Casa Fernandez. It’s not as good as the cigars mentioned above. but, at $3 a cigar, they’re GREAT!

Re: Aganorsa Leaf

Aganorsa Leaf is the new name for Casa Fernandez. The CF aganorsa Leaf and Miami cigars are all excellent. I would guess there will be some big sales as they get rid of stock with the old packaging....

Re: Alex's Private Blend (Cigar Bundles of Miami)

So, I sprang for a 5er, just for fun. It's a well constructed cigar. Flavor is deep maduro, darkly roasted coffee with black pepper. It's a good cigar. But, the price point may be optimistic. I can...

Re: Cigar Federation Tobacos

I’ve bought stuff from this gang several times and enjoyed the cigars. You have to decide for yourself if the price point is justified.

There marketing is rather intense at times. But, hey, did...

Re: How long Should I look For A Package That Is Coming From Cananda

Well, you know, it really depends a lot on the shipping method. If they use the tunnel under the lake, it’s only a day or two. But, you can never tell with the Canadians. If they insist on using one...

Re: Cigar Bars/Lounges in Raleigh, NC?

Just to the West of you is the excellent The Pipe and Pint in Greensboro.

You’re also close to JR’s huge shop in Burlington. Both easily accessible from I-40.

Re: Not getting My Humidity Beads For A Week.

You could put them in some gallon size ziploc bags. I’ve kept cigars in a hotel room for long periods that way.

Re: Freezing Cigars For Beetles? What do you guys think?

There’s a sticky thread that has much detailed info. I put my cigars in a plastic bag with a Boveda humidification packet. After freezing, I keep them sealed with the Boveda for several days to let...

Re: What's the deal with Cigar price drops?

Like, wine, whiskeys, etc., cigars attract a certain gang who feel they can justify extremely high prices for that special product that only their refined palettes can appreciate. For the rest of us,...
