Re: What cigar did you smoke today III?

This evening I enjoyed a 262 Paradigm. Never had one, and it was pretty good. Toro vitola.

I set out on the road this morning, and about 30 minutes into my drive, I realized I had not packed any...

Re: I had a great cigar today thanks to......

I am enjoying a Fuente Anejo 49, courtesy of some co-workers on my 40th birthday. Which was over 3 years ago. Over the last 2 weeks, I have enjoyed the OpusX and Anejo's from the gift sampler they...

Re: Review terminology

I usually hear "barnyard" used in reference to a scent/fragrance off the cigar, usually unlit. I usually associate this naming with the smell of a barn -- hay, grass, cow poop. It would be a deep,...

Re: My friend in Burlington

I picked up a 5-er of those Omar Ortez maduros a few months ago. Quite tasty. Great value.

Re: What cigar did you smoke today III?

I am having a Gurkha Legend Torpedo right now. I bought this guy as part of a 5-er about 2.5 years ago. Paid WAY too much. Over time, I have had three of the five.

Let me say: Wow! Much...

Re: I had a great cigar today thanks to......

I am enjoying a Padron 1964 from Sonic Mike. I got this from him . . . 18 months ago? It had somehow avoided my grasp until now. GREAT smoke! Thanks, Mike!

Chateau Fuente Sungrown with a pot of coffee is a GREAT way to start the day.

Re: Chapel Hill, NC cigar bars/restaurants

I assumed this was going to be about the Embassy Suites at Brier Creek. They have a great patio, but they can't like me setting up all evening out there . . .

Thanks for the leads, folks. ...

Re: Chapel Hill, NC cigar bars/restaurants

I was thinking of that, too. The biggest issue there might be transportation -- more people than we have seats in the car, I think.

How is it that the Angus Barn still has smoking rights? I...

Chapel Hill, NC cigar bars/restaurants

Is there anywhere in Chapel Hill that is "cigar friendly?" The only place I know of near there is The Angus Barn, but that is not exactly CH.

Any suggestions?

Re: Cigars you can't go wrong with?

One of my favorite value smokes. Bought a box of robustos about 2 years ago, and I have been digging back into them now that the weather is getting colder -- too cold for the double coronas, anyway....

Re: Opus X ... Am I Missing Something

Good thread. A cigar like an OpusX is going to be influenced by age, the moment, and the expectations you have going into the experience. Some cigars will never be able to live up to the hype,...

Re: Have You Heard of Repuff...

I heard that episode. It sounded interesting, but even after the interview I have no idea how the stuff works. Voodoo, maybe.

Re: 2nd cigar smoked

Lots of good BOTL in Va Beach.

I like the RyJ Habana Reserves. I got some of the robustos, and they are mild/medium, and well-constructed. In fact, I need to get back into my humi and dig...

Re: Any interest in a BlackBerry Cigar application?

I use Ken's app on my iTouch, and LOVE it. But, I don't always have my ipod with me. By contrast, my Blackberry Storm is glued to me at all times. It would be GREAT to have something...

Re: Good cigar shops in Hilton Head, SC?

LOOOOVVVVEEEE Hilton Head. As I recall, there used to be a shop right on the main drive, not far from Palmetto Dunes. I have not been to HHI in 2 or 3 years, though.

Enjoy your trip.

Emerson's Cigars, Virginia Beach

I don't usually do this, but I want to give a quick shout out to Emerson's in Virginia Beach.

I have been travelling on business, and wound up staying the tidewater region for the first time in...

Re: Finding my taste preference

If you like the Serie G, which I believe had a Cameroon wrapper, you can take that template and expand into other blends. There are LOTS of cigars with Cammy wrappers, and all of them have their own...

Re: My first CC

I rarely ever smoke CC's. I remember my first, though. A Monte Petit Edmundo. OUTSTANDING cigar. Good memories.

Re: Connecticut shade wrapper with Nicaraguan filler?

That 601 Black is a solid smoke. Have not had one in a while, but the few torpedos I have had were really enjoyable.

Re: I had a great cigar today thanks to......

I had a nice, dark Taboo toro this evening, courtesy of a bomb from Sonic Mike last summer. I have no idea how this one made it to the bottom of the humidor, but it was delicous, and I'm glad I...

Re: Tar?

I had this happen a couple of times over the winter. Once with a Camacho, once with an RyJ Havana Reserve Toro. Very different sticks, but both Toros. In both cases, it really ruined the smoking...
