Re: Dry aging beef?

I'm sure that would work really well. I ended up getting a good seal it just took a couple tries, next time will be easier but if I have any issues I'll keep that in mind

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

No but I got his list of spots. The only one from his list that's really a secret since it's off the highway on the way up I struck out on, the rest are just the biggest shops in Cheyenne. Funny...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Took a trip up to WY on Saturday to try to score some stuff we can't get in Denver, heard the stores are getting flooded by CO people but figured I'd try anyways. Did manage to grab the last bottle...

Re: Dry aging beef?

Cut off my first steaks last night, 42 days aged. After the trimming they were a little scrawny, but it was from the narrow end. Still really enjoyed it, left a little over 3LB in the fridge for 2...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Tony's good peoples :tu

Had a few pours over the weekend, ended with cracking a new bottle of Smoke Wagon Uncut / Unfiltered. Really enjoyed it, hard to get a good profile on the first pour of...

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?

Lots of good beer over the weekend from Tree House and Trillium, mostly IPAs since they only had a couple darker things in stock. Picked up a fancy bottle of stout aged in Port barrels from...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Did you say Old Fitz? How much was the Old Fitz? Never seen it in the wild, a store posted it once but I got there an hour later and was laughed out of the store when I asked if they still had any...

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?

They almost seemed like afterthoughts and they just threw some stuff in the barrels at the end. I know that's not the case but it seemed like they were missing the love. I only have one of the Rye...

Re: Ben's Blind Bourbon Reviews

After reflecting back on the samples Tom sent, I think the coolest thing was the cinnamon in the Willett compared to the cinnamon in the Booker's. One was from an apple pie, one was from hot...

Re: Ben's Blind Bourbon Reviews

I agree, very fun both on the guessing side and on the "I wonder what they think of the whiskeys I love" side

Well now I have four little bottles with numbers still on them, anybody want me to...

Re: Ben's Blind Bourbon Reviews

Just finished up #4. Nose has notes of leather and fruit, I can tell a higher proof than the others. The pallet is bright with a small sip coating my mouth, but the proof while not overwhelming...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Honestly I don't see it too often, most of the "pricier" places I shop add $10-$20 for hard to get bottles but they're small shops and I'll usually pay it to help them out if I want that. Otherwise...

Brewery 14: Goose Island

2017 Bourbon County Brand Stout - Coffee Variant. This was a 6am on Black Friday outside the liquor store with a hot coffee and a CORO type of purchase. I realized that...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Went for a hike yesterday, stopped by a liquor store before heading back to Denver. Got excited when I saw the handles of Weller SR and Eagle Rare, but quickly realized the situation when I saw the...

Re: Ben's Blind Bourbon Reviews

#3 last night. Color is a dark amber, the nose is sweet with some fruit notes, no specific fruit in particular, and a little bit of ethanol if I really breath in but never overpowering. After...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Every time you go to the store pick up 2-4 bottles, eventually they'll all be hard to finish because you'll keep grabbing pours of different stuff

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Local store just put up a post about an 11 year EC store pick. Wasn't gonna wait for that one to sell out, ran right over, $34 for 11 years seems like a fair price :)

Re: Ben's Blind Bourbon Reviews

#2 last night. Light wood on the nose, a familiar profile but I can't put my finger on it. Pallet was smooth, a little sweet but an earthy overtone. I was able to move it around my mouth without...

Re: Ben's Blind Bourbon Reviews

#1 went down last night. The nose was fantastic, green apple peel and apple juice. The pallet was all cinnamon and baking spices, on it's own hardly any apple but when I took a big sniff just...
