Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

I'm still gonna give Larceny's regular release a try, heard good things about it, maybe this pick was done specifically because of the unique profile. To some I'm sure the profile is sought after,...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Grabbed a Larceny store pick on Saturday, cracked it last night and it tasted like straight up pistachios and peanuts. I've heard about nutty profiles but not often from Heaven Hill, unique to say...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Sounds like a review I would write... tastes like whiskey but good whiskey

I'm weak and stopped by my shop on the way home yesterday to get their bottle of RC6, haven't cracked it yet but I'm sure...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Heard nothing but good about New Riff, never seen it available around here but I'd love to hear your thoughts

I was a bit surprised about the 46 as well, I'm heavily leaning towards wheaters...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Went to a cigar bar yesterday and figured I'd re-try a few of the staples that I haven't had in a while, Knob Creek Basil Hayden and Makers Mark 46. I don't know if I've every actually had the 46...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

That's the one!

Nice looking list you've got there. For now I'm keeping mine to larger amounts of fewer types but that may change in the future. My only hard rule is true bourbon only, I've seen...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Stopped on my way home to buy a bottle of BT, as I was checking out I saw a single bottle of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof up behind the counter, I'm too weak to say no to that. Looking forward to...

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?

The other one they're releasing at the same time sounds pretty interesting as well:

VANILLA DESTINATIONS
As shamelessly huge fans of the folks at Bottle Logic and the amazing beers they produce,...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Thanks, I use that site a lot for reviews and their release calendar. I think I'm going to pass as well, there are a few other things that interest me a little more, but if I see it out at a bar...

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?

After seeing so many crossovers between whiskey and beer, this one sounds pretty interesting and relatively unique, love the attention they're giving to the history. This is going to be the first...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Had pours from a couple opened bottles last night, Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare, both tasty. After that I had a glass from my most recent barrel aged old fashioned (made with Elijah Craig),...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Had a pour of woodford reserve rye last night, not my favorite, I've been hit or miss on rye lately. I almost picked up a knob creek rye store pick on my way home but managed to hold off, trying to...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Went to a new-to-me cigar bar on Saturday, not the best bourbon selection but I did have a pour of Russel's 10 and the Russel's Rye 6. I think the 10 was as vanilla as I have ever tasted in a...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Same, somewhere in the $70-75 range. I'll keep that in mind, I'm mainly sticking with bourbon for now other than a few cheaper rye pickups. Whiskey has been my go to liquor for years but only...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

How is that cask strength rye? I heard a couple people online say they wish they could get it, I found it a few places here but the price was a little higher than I wanted to pay

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

20 is prohibition style, 10 is "old fine whiskey." Have you had either? The 10 sounds more interesting (double barrel aged) but the higher proof on the 20 apparently brings out some really great...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Weller SR handle, old forester rye and EH Taylor last night

Found some bottles of Old Forester 1910 and 1920 for $55 each, deciding on if I want to go pick either up this afternoon, the 1920...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Based on the absurd range of bottles at reasonable prices and the fact that they never take inventory/ship to anywhere, I'm going to assume it's a sham site. Fun to look through and day dream about...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Found a bottle of Weller 12 by accident, was out black friday beer shopping and didn't realize one of the stores was doing a whiskey sale, got there 15 minutes before they opened and was second in...

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?

Hit up a couple VA breweries the past few days before heading back to CO, the cherry on top was Adroit Theory out in the middle of nowhere, only been once before and was very happy to return. Too...
