Re: Custom cigar gift for my uncle

That's really awesome. Good job on putting together an amazingly thoughtful gift.

Re: Homebrewers - Whats in the fermenter?

I started a sour mash last night for what will be a semi-funky Saison. I have a session IPA (missed my OG by a lot and ended up with a low abv, high ibu beer) that I really need to get into bottles...

Re: Pre-order for Pete's mini monsters has begun!

I think 3J's was the store requiring people to purchase the ridiculously overpriced Wolfman lighter in order to buy a dress box. It's just really shady tactics and I'm amazed they're charging...

Re: Cigar lighting revelation

That's exactly what I do. It takes a little longer, but you don't get those first couple harsh puffs that scorch your palate right off the bat. People always look at me weird while I take my time...

Re: The Perfect temperature to Smoke

God, I wish we had 63 degree weather right now. It's either really hot or in the 80s with 30mph winds. I need an indoor lounge.

Re: I'm a Corona Type of Guy How about you?

Corona gorda and lancero are probably my two favorite vitolas. I'll pretty much smoke anything from a PC to a churchill, though.

Re: The 5 Best Cigars to Give Your Cigar Newbie Friends

Padron x000 series is the definition of easy draw and good construction. You'd be hard pressed to find another one more consistent. I've had pretty good luck giving the Diesel UC and Shorty to new...

Re: How long in-between smokes?

I can do 2 or 3 in a row without really pausing in between as long as I have some food and/or a sugary drink on hand. And sometimes I go weeks between cigars, depending on how busy I am and how...

Re: Homebrewers - Whats in the fermeter?

I built the exact same controller to that exact same thread.

Re: Homebrewers - Whats in the fermeter?

Yeah, it's a full size fridge and I've been using it to cold crash, but now I'll be able to hold temps anywhere I want them. Been sitting rock solid at 68° all week.

Re: Homebrewers - Whats in the fermeter?

I've got a Wit and a Coffee Stout in my fermenters right now. Might try to bottle this weekend. On Monday I should be getting grains to do 3 different SMaSH's, but I'm not sure when I'll have the...

Re: World No Tobacco Day

Hadn't been planning on smoking tonight, but now I almost feel obligated to. Think I'll even dig into the cooler and find something really nice for it, too.

Re: Homebrewers - Whats in the fermeter?

I've got ingredients for an AG coffee stout and an extract Wit on the way. Should be here next week. Might do a big brew day next weekend depending on what I've got going on.

Re: My funny Southern California story !!

It's really more a byproduct of working for a huge corporation than being in California. I've lived here my whole life and never encountered anyone that ridiculous. Now, I've heard the Bay Area is...

Re: It's times like this I am glad I have a lock on my cabinet

We're expecting our first in July and it has definitely occurred to me that I'm going to need to get some stuff organized and put out of sight. The cigars should be fine in the cooler in the closet,...

Re: New Cigar: Diesel Crucible

Just checked cbid and the only two listings are going for over retail price. No thanks.

Re: New Cigar: Diesel Crucible

I'm most definitely not paying retail for these. Might try to snag some off cbid, but I will never pay $10+ each for a Diesel.

Re: House blends....

The Diesels from CI are staples in my humi, as well as the La Floridita Limited from Famous. The NHC Seleccion Limitada made by Tatuaje for New Havana is amazing. Other than that there aren't too...

Re: Homebrewers - Whats in the fermeter?

I've got a blonde (AG) and an amber (extract) in primary right now. Probably bottle the blonde this weekend and I've got plans to brew a big IIPA on April 13th so I'll probably reuse the yeast cake...

Re: Cigar Spills

That seems like a lot of trouble to go through on something you're going to light on fire in order to light something else on fire. I'll use them when they're free in a box or wrapped around a...

Re: Iron Horse?

So there are two people in this thread with one post only talking up these Famous house brand cigars. I'm more than a little suspicious of that. I chalk it up as another possible reason not to buy...

Re: Sushi

This weekend the wife and I are going to our local place that offers all you can eat sushi. Runs about $50 or so for the both of us and it has ruined me on other sushi places. Everywhere else I go...

Re: Anyone tried a Diesel Stout?

I've never even heard of this one. I guess these are one-offs going on cbid? Neither cigar.com or CI list them. I love the UC and the Shorty, but a 6x60 might be a little much. I'd probably give...
