Just picked up a bottle of Parkers Heritage 2011 finished in Cognac barrels. can't wait to try this.

A close price point is the Evan Williams Single Barrel. Amazing stuff, and only 23.95 around GA, similarly elsewhere I'm sure.

What shop do you go to ? I frequent Minks in Marietta, and he also gave me a tasting of it, that's what made me buy it, it's amazing.

Try the EC 12 yr. Most I have talked with like the 12 better than the 18 and its cheaper...win-win. Either way, you have a great pairing there bro, enjoy. :banger

This question entirely depends on your personal tastes. To me, Willetts carries a more Rye flavor that up until recently, I was not a fan of.

The Buffalo Trace, hands down my favorite everyday...

The BTAC here in Ga have been slim, this is the only one I can find so far...still looking for Eagle Rare and both the Ryes.

The Mariage is now discontinued in favor of a new(an recently released) Small Batch LE.

The 2009 Mariage has a 19 yo in it. Great stuff.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "they only age their barrels 2 years"

Not sure what blend you were sampling, but the Single Barrel is a 10 yr, and the 2009 Mariage has a 19 yr in it.

That's my understanding as well. But there are some very good bourbons/whiskeys from other places as well. A.H. Hirsh Special Selection 20yr is distilled and aged in Illinois. Michters used to be...

Do NOT buy Jim Beam Red Stagg. Its a cherry flavored bourbon, not even cheap shot worthy.

When we say Stagg, we mean George T Stagg, from Buffalo Traces Antique Collection. Do a google search...
