Re: Chasidor (EdgeStar28)

Condensation is an issue to be dealt with, especially living in the south with no basement.

The drain hole is no longer "plugged." The machine screw is gone.

A jar now sits on the outside...

Re: Chasidor Drawer question

I'm full agreement with Bart. My trays and drawers have glass tops and no slots. They are like little humidors within a larger one.

I've placed beads in each for that extra buffer.

When I...

Re: Chasidor (EdgeStar28)

I had similar experience initially, but not for long. It's now holding ~63F regularly. I'm sure if a data logger were hooked up Iwould be surprised in the temperature swings and RH variations. But...

Re: Chasidor (EdgeStar28)

jaymz,

I found a machine screw on my tool bench that had the right diameter to fit into the drain hole.

If you have enough thread on the drain extension use an acorn nut (5/16-18)....or the...

Re: Water pillow or Boveda humidity pack

That would be great. It's interesting there's no simple answer; not even on their web site.

However, the folks at StogieFresh did an upbeat analysis back in 2006 and still no mention of %RH. They...

Re: Water pillow or Boveda humidity pack

Yup followed their instructions, made certain the bag was dry.

Did the same test with a 65% HeartF tube of beads...hygrometer read 65%. I tried to employ/emulate a method in how I would use the...

Re: Water pillow or Boveda humidity pack

I placed a hydrated, small WaterPillow in the typical zip lock cigar bag for about 4 hours and the RH ran up to 76% (my digital hygro's are Boveda calibrated). :jd

Re: Water pillow or Boveda humidity pack

I eMailed the WaterPillow folks over a week ago...no response...so I guess I'll use a hygrometer to find out.

Re: Water pillow or Boveda humidity pack

Water Pillows?? What RH do they maintain? More than not vendors use them when they ship cigars and I've never could find out the RH.

(Depending on application I will use beads or Boveda.)
